Senators are individuals who are recognized for representing a set of core values which reflect the history and evolution of the Friendship Centre Movement. Senators may be called upon to provide information, guidance or advice to the Friendship Centre Movement from time-to-time. They are role models to Indigenous youth and are highly respected ambassadors of the Friendship Centre Movement.

About Senator Winston McLeod

Senator Winston is a proud Metis man from Selkirk Manitoba where he has lived, married and raised his family his entire life.

He has been involved with the Selkirk Friendship Centre as a board member for many years, has served as second Vice-President for the Manitoba Association of Friendship Centres and as a past NAFC Board of Director.

He dedicates his time as an Elder with the Selkirk Friendship Centre and continues to be actively involved with the Red River Manitoba Metis as Vice-chairperson for the Interlake Metis local Advisory Committee.

Currently, Senator Winston represents Manitoba as a member of the Senate for the NAFC and participates in all meetings of the Manitoba Association of Friendship Centres.

Thank you, Senator Winston, for all the work that you have done and continue to do for the Friendship Centre Movement and urban Indigenous people!
